Honorable Judges, Ladies and Gentlemen,

On seeing this topic “The Greatest Invention in My Eyes”, a series of household names like electricity, computers, and planes appeared in my mind. Then I searched through the Internet and exchanged ideas with friends, hoping to find inspiration when suddenly a word flashed into my mind---Language.

Without the language, I couldn’t understand the information from the Internet, without the language, I couldn’t discuss the topic with my friends, without the language, I have no idea how to communicate with you on the stage today.

The invention of language created a tool for us to live regularly. The use of language is everywhere when we are reading books, talking with people, writing articles and giving speeches.

The invention of language bridged the gap of people from different nations. By reading the translated works, we open our eyes to different cultures and life styles, through talking with foreigners; we widen our minds from a different angle of evaluate things.

The invention of the language leaded us the way to release all kinds of emotions. Friends may share happiness and sorrow with each other, lovers may show their passionate love towards each other, parents may comfort children and give them encouragement while facing reverses. All of them depend on the language.

To my belief, language is the greatest invention. It makes us to know our history and cherish the moment now, thus we can hold the balance of lives, it makes minds and minds exploded in a shower of sparks, and thus we can push the society to develop in a harmony pace.
